Not as great but just as good

When you conceive a train of thought
In vain you feel that you are wrought
But nothing comes from blinding light
When you are searching through the night
To find face that doesn't frown
When you seem to always drown
In a sea beyond the mind
Where if one ventures one might find
All there is to know and tell
Even if you soul would fell
The tallest tree unknown to man
the building of self still it stands
And visiting the darkest place
Where meaning always leaves a trace
You might not be able to erase
The understanding feeling and the face
Living without it
seems like a waste
Don't begin the end
To start the beginning
Dont believe the one who sends
A sort of silence so unseeming
Take a breath of golden smoke
Try to hold it not to choke
And when it fills you from within
You might tare the vale thin
And all the hush and all the din
Can break away from every hinge
And you can sail over the brim
Of the world that never sings
Something opens when you say
Everything you've locked away
In the corners of your head
Where nothings ever said
And i will never give in again
To being sunken
I must bend
The mask is broken
And i never will pretend
To know something i cant hear
To see nothing but the fear
To care for others is my goal
And myself forever in my soul
Playing all within my role
Of being healed free and whole
I want to be understood
Not as great but just as good
As a man who always stood
With the spirit of the woods
And shed the blood one always should
There is a time for contemplation
When everything becomes impression
And something stirs beneath permission
It is a way of being together
And alone inside forever
Out of the mess and the confusion,
of this world built on illusions
