Loneliness

Is loneliness our disease?

Is loneliness just trying to please

Itself?

By making us so appeased

With our own minds

Can't we try to think a different way?

Can we try to differentiate

Loneliness and love?

My words get jumbled up

When I try to express

Everything that goes within

I don't know if I'm blessed

Or am I just a machine?

Trying to find my path

Through the windy streets?

Trying to walk

I'm trying to talk to you

How do you continue loving in such a world?

How do you continue living in such a world?

Were you once made of clay?

Were you once made to stay,

All alone?

Are we meant to be here still?

Are we meant to be here still?

Or is this getting a little bit old?

A little bit scary, a little bit bold?

A little bit untold…

Silence hums through the night

A faith beneath the faintest light

A lifeless rhythm

A hollow hum

A call unanswered

A voice gone numb

Where echoes pray and shadows kneel

A memory sings the things we feel

Its doors are open to the breeze

Through broken symmetries

And im the ghost that lights the flame

Whisper forgiveness to my name

In the quiet of my heart

The walls fall down

The worlds depart

Loneliness teaches the art of delay

Of waiting for words that lose their way

Of drinking silence drop by drop

Of calling out but hearing naught

Maybe every ache we feel

Is just the proof that we are real

That love is born through solitude

That emptiness can still include

For what we miss becomes the thread

That ties the living to the dead

And in the binding faith runs true

The universe begins anew

I walk in halls of dust and dream

Where absence flows like a silver stream

Where every tear, each fleeting spark

Carves constellations in the dark

At night the stars to each other confide

Across a void so vast, so wide

And i imagine i can feel

A hunger nothing can quite heal

For even creation so grand

Was born from wanting to understand

It adds a shadow everywhere

It wears a face that's never quite there

Yet sometimes it softens and the night

Grows gentle beneath its fragile light

A song starts to form like a rising tide

And for a moment i coincide

My heart and the world

A single breath

Alive in the pause

Between life and death

And time will cause

The echoes to fade

Leaving the scent of what was made

And now the voice calls out to me

To break apart all that could be

For loneliness that sacred sound

Is where the lost and living are found

For even the absence proves the real

To ache for others and to feel

To yearn is proof that i exist

A pulse within the cosmic mist

And maybe that is quite a gift

That pain through time begins to drift

And somewhere else

Unseen, unknown

Another heart beats all alone

Listening softly through the air

Hoping to find another there
