The desert of tears

In my heart

Appears

When i am alone

And thinking

Of the years

How ive grown

And whom ive lost

Along the way

When the flow of time

I hear

And hold so dear

Those who have stayed

I think of what i had

To give away

And feel

And play

With emptiness

And how i miss

That deep caress

So distant in the past

Which ill never feel again

When in myself i lay

And try to heal

The wounds of wisdom

The pain of belief

My confused system

Yearning for relief

I am but a falling leaf

Falling off the tree of home

I need to learn to live alone

Within myself and in the world

I hold on to every word

As if these words can breath

My anxious wanting out of me

As if i can ever fully grieve

Everything ill never be

Everything i was and no longer am

I feel know and understand

In the heavy sinking sands
